The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Teaser Is Here, Introducing New Characters Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. It was showcased in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the upcoming animated film.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will send Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Space-Faring Quest Based on Beloved Titles
In the vein of the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. On his epic voyage, he will reunite with some familiar faces, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the first movie.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly utilizes powers related to metal. Notably, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also includes nods to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow
The film will see the return of the primary vocal talent, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
